If you are responsible for responding to data Subject Access Requests (SAR) it could be costing you far more than you realise. A review of SAR processes often shows just how much time is taken to prepare the data, even before the task of applying redaction has begun. Add to this a 30-day deadline and possible fines for non-compliance, responding to SARs is becoming a problem for most organisations.
Whilst there are numerous software tools available to help search for relevant files as well as redaction software that will ‘blackline’ data within a single document, most of these are designed for use by IT staff. Trying to ‘package’ these tools together in order that less technical users can utilise them when processing SARs is a big challenge, often leading to frustrations when data protection officers find that it is impossible to do their job efficiently.
